STRATEGIC OPERATION: ELIMINATION
The disruption of SPOKANIS by the falling of a yet-to-be identified
space hulk has provided an opportunity for us to gather vital
intelligence and materials for our efforts. Priority targets have been
identified and reconnaissance must be conducted before material
extraction can begin.
WATCH INTELLIGENCE has located vast stores of PROMETHIUM within the
space hulk. This PROMETHIUM has been refined to a degree our current
technology is unable to. The EMPEROR’S OWN has been deployed and
secured the immediate area. Auspex scanning has revealed ENEMY ELEMENTS
in the AREA of OPERATION. The EMPEROR’S OWN should prepare for imminent
attack.

EMPEROR’S OWN strike team took defensive action over an ancient cache
of PROMETHIUM within the storage tanks in the DARK ZONE of the UNNAMED
SPACE HULK that has made planetfall on SPOKANIS. Having detected the
approach of a squad of IMPERIUM WARP JUMPERS [SEE ADDENDUM 1] the
strike team was able to deploy barricades in the corridors of the AREA
of OPERATION.
Initially the strike team split into two fireteams. Fireteam one [FT1]
consisted of SGT. WOTON, VET. SIEGMUND, and SNIPER LOGE. Fireteam two
[FT2] consisted of VOX-BREAKER HAGEN, MINELAYER SIEFRIED, and
VOX-OPERATIVE DONNER.
FT1 proceeded to secure the main chamber in the AREA of OPERATION. This
chamber contained a number of pipeline elements. FT2 utilized a
maintenance corridor to secure auxiliary pipeline elements. Elements
of the ENEMY STRIKE TEAM were spotted in and around the chambers and
corridors of the AREA of OPERATION.
FT2 secured the auxiliary pipeline elements by placing a HAYWIRE MINE
in the corridor leading to the pipeline elements. In the main chamber,
FT1 encountered ENEMY OPERATIVES. VET. SIEGMUND disabled the PROMETHIUM
pipeline but was attacked by the ENEMY LEADER and disabled. SGT. WOTON
attacked ENEMY LEADER and incapacitated them [SEE ADDENDUM 2]. ENEMY
OPERATIVES fired upon SGT. WOTON as SNIPER LOGE returned fire. In the
auxiliary chamber ENEMY OPERATIVES breach the hatch, detonating the
HAYWIRE MINE. MINELAYER SIEFRIED is incapacitated in the ensuing
firefight.
With two firefights having broken out the EMPEROR’S OWN were assaulted
by the ENEMY STRIKE TEAM from multiple angles. SGT. WOTON deployed a
grenade against ENEMY OPERATIVES in the main chamber incapacitating an
ENEMY OPERATIVE. SGT. WOTON was then engaged in hand-to-hand combat and
incapacitated another ENEMY OPERATIVE. SGT. WOTON was then shot and
disabled by a third ENEMY OPERATIVE. VOX-BREAKER HAGEN was attacked
with a MELTA weapon of unknown make [SEE ADDENDUM 3] and disabled.
VOX-OPERATIVE DONNER retaliated and incapacitated the enemy with return
fire. At some point during the confusion SNIPER LOGE was incapacitated.
VOX-OPERATIVE DONNER was able to retreat and coordinate the regrouping
of the EMPEROR'S OWN. The EMPEROR’S OWN then withdrew from the AREA of
OPERATIONS.

NAVAL COMMAND considers this operation to be a FAILURE. Analysis of
remaining PROMETHIUM in storage tanks post raid is less than 50%. This
means the EMPEROR’S OWN is effectively stranded on SPOKANIS as they
currently lack enough PROMETHIUM reserves for the LANCEA IMPERATORIS
will be unable to climb the well into the void.
At this time NAVAL COMMAND is researching possible extraction options
should control of the LANCEA IMPERATORIUS be lost. NAVAL COMMAND is
also researching alternative terrestrial transportation for the
EMPEROR’S OWN as usage of the LANCEA IMPERATORIS as an insertion
vehicle possesses significant tactical risk.
Remaining PROMETHIUM has been secured.

001) The WARP JUMPERS appear to be a specialized IMPERIUM unit.
Superficially they operate like a team of TEMPESTUS SCIONS however,
their uniforms are markedly different. WATCH INTELLIGENCE is
investigating this difference to discover any significant meaning.
002) Incapacitation of the ENEMY LEADER allowed the EMPEROR’S OWN to
re-secure the non-raided PROMETHIUM as their withdrawal was done in an
uncoordinated manner. WATCH INTELLIGENCE had also marked the target
for elimination.
003) Given IMPERIUM forces were encountered this is likely an IMPERIUM
model that NAVAL COMMAND does not have a match for in the pattern
room. Should the WARP JUMPERS be encountered again, retrieval of this
weapon is a secondary priority.
